Nintendo Switch launch day bundle pricing appears down under

While pre-orders for the forthcoming Nintendo Switch are still being accepted down under through retailers such as EB Games, potential buyers have not seen much in the way of bundle deals. Now, it appears that there will be at least two launch day deals on offer.

Major retailer, Big W, will sell two Nintendo Switch bundles on launch day, specifically:

  • Nintendo Switch + The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild @ AU$519
  • Nintendo Switch + 1-2 Switch @ AU$499

Interested buyers will also have the choice between the grey and neon versions of the Nintendo Switch console which will come packaged with grey or blue/red Joy-Con respectively.

Pricing for games and accessories was also revealed:

Games:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild @ $75
  • Super Bomberman R @ $75
  • Just Dance 2017 @ $75
  • 1-2 Switch @ $55
  • Skylanders Imaginators @ $79

Accessories:

  • Pro Controller @ $85
  • Joy-Con Controller Set @ $99
  • Car charger and cables @ $17
  • Nintendo Switch cases @ $25
  • Game Traveller Mini Protection Pack @ $12

In comparison to the store"s standalone retail pricing, the Nintendo Switch bundles each provide a saving of $25, while the individual games already beating initial pricing from other major rivals by roughly $15. Big W"s pricing on the Pro Controller at $75 also seems to be leading the pack with competing Aussie retailers pegging the peripheral at $99, providing a timely reminder that it pays to shop around.

Unfortunately, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Limited Edition looks to be absent from Big W"s opening lineup, leaving EB Games as seemingly the sole retailer still accepting pre-orders for a wallet draining $189. While the Master Edition of the game won"t be made available down under, the Limited Edition has been offered in its place which dropped the Sheikah carry case from the list of inclusions.
