Earlier this week, Hello Games announced a brand new update that is heading to No Man"s Sky named Atlas Rises. While the full changelog is yet to arrive, the studio revealed that improvements to the central story and quick travel portals will be included in the update.
The update is slated to land sometime this week, but today, the studio may have accidentally pushed out the changelog, before quickly removing it again. However, not before some sharp community members managed to grab a screenshot of its description.
According to the screenshot, along with the previously announced story and quick travel features, the update will include "a new procedural mission system, trade improvements, system economies, joint exploration and more".
The mention of joint exploration is what fans are getting excited about, as the game was supposed to ship with multiplayer functionality, with the developer saying that finding other players would be unlikely due to the vast distances between them, but it would not be impossible. However, the feature was entirely missing at launch, a factor that contributed a great deal to the heavy backlash the game suffered.
If the description turns out to be true, joint exploration may, in fact, be the arrival of the long anticipated multiplayer functionality for the game, although it also could be something else entirely, so take this information with a grain of salt.
Whether it will include multiplayer or not, No Man"s Sky Update 1.3, Atlas Rises, is set to land quite soon, may be even later today according to some reports.
