Nokia 8 flagship revealed in leaked image, showing dual rear cameras with ZEISS optics

Earlier today, HMD Global officially announced two new entry-level handsets: the ultra-affordable Nokia 105 and Nokia 130. What it didn"t announce was its new flagship smartphone, which has been extensively rumored in recent weeks.

Rather than wait for HMD to get around to it, Evan Blass (better known as @evleaks) did his thing, publishing a leaked image of the new Nokia 8 range-topper on VentureBeat.

The Nokia 8 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 835 processor, along with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and a large display with Quad HD resolution. Significantly, the image shows that the device will have dual rear cameras - believed to each have 13-megapixel resolution - with ZEISS optics.

HMD recently announced that ZEISS imaging technology would be coming to its Nokia-branded devices. For many years, ZEISS optics were a mainstay of Nokia"s premium handsets - including the N8, N95, 808 PureView and Lumia 1020 - helping the company to earn a strong reputation for excellent mobile cameras.
