Images and a hands-on of the upcoming Nokia 9 (earlier rumored as the Nokia 8) have been posted online by the folk over at frandroid.com, albeit wrapped in an enclosure designed to keep its design away from prying eyes. What it doesn"t hide is the connectors required for operation, and this means confirmation of a Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The display is reportedly 5.3-inch WQHD (1440x 2560 pixels), although CPU-Z reports it at 5.27 inches, and the reviewers have measured a 530nits maximum brightness. An Always-On display feature is also present.
Other key specs include:
- Snapdragon 835 chipset (clocked at 2.46GHz)
- 4GB of RAM
- 64GB of storage
- Android 7.1.1
As far as the UI is concerned, it appears to be using a Pixel-like launcher painted in Nokia-blue. The phone is bundled with a pair of earbuds, and a QuickCharge 3.0 fast charger.
There"s a dual-camera setup on the back of the phone, reportedly a 2x13MP setup, accompanied with a dual LED flash, as well as what appears to be a laser autofocus window. A few early snaps (see gallery below) look underwhelming but do bear in mind that they"ve been taken with a prototype device and have also been downscaled.
In addition, a hefty price tag of $700/€750 has been rumored for the Nokia flagship, and it"s unclear when the phone will even launch, since it hasn"t been heard of officially since January.
