If you have a Nokia device, you also most likely have Carl Zeiss optics inside. If you are not familiar with Carl Zeiss optics, fret not; just know that it is a premium provider of quality cut glass to make sure your pictures are clear and precise.
Nokia posted up the press release on its site a few hours ago and is obviously excited about the continuation of the exclusive partnership with Carl Zeiss. The partnership is a strategic opportunity for Nokia as it looks to differentiate its products from other devices on retail shelves.
If you remember the Nokia Pureview, Carl Zeiss played a key role in bringing that product to the market. The device with a 41 MP camera shook up the mobile phone industry by blowing out the competition with a massive camera sensor.
In other news, Nokia has decided to sue the competition in Germany and the United States as Nokia states:
Nokia"s actions include a complaint to the US International Trade Commission (ITC) against HTC, suits against HTC and Viewsonic in the Federal District Court of Delaware, US, against HTC and RIM in the Regional Court in Dusseldorf, Germany and against all three companies in the Regional Courts in Mannheim and Munich, Germany. In total, 45 Nokia patents are in suit in one or more of the actions.
Nokia is throwing around 45 as the number of patents in total that are being infringed upon around the Globe but if previous cases are a reference point, we will see this number drop as the cases play out. We also expect HTC, RIM, Viewsonic to file countersuits against the company as that is typically how these things go down.
