Nokia officially announced its plans to launch the budget priced Nokia Lumia 510 smartphone just a couple of weeks ago. Now the newest, and perhaps one of the last, members of the Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone family is officially on sale in India.
The Times of India reports that retailers are selling the smartphone starting at INR 9,999 without a SIM card. That"s about $183 with current exchange rates. Nokia"s official website in India also has the Lumia 510 as being on sale, but with the slightly higher price of INR 10,499.
As we have reported before, the Nokia Lumia 510 has a four inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor, 256 MB RAM, four GB of onboard storage, and a five megapixel camera. Nokia claims it has 8.4 hours of talk time.
The Lumia 510 is also supposed to go on sale in China and other parts of Asia, along with South America, in the coming months. There is no word on if it will make an appearance in North America. However, that seems unlikely as Nokia is pushing hard for its various Windows Phone 8 devices in that part of the world.
