Nokia first announced the 6-inch Lumia 1320 smartphone in October and today the company revealed that the big, but fairly cheap, Windows Phone 8 device has now gone on sale in China. The plan is to expand the availability to other parts of Asia in the coming weeks, including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The press release goes over the hardware specs of the 1320, which includes a LCD IPS display with a resolution of 1280×720. This display isn"t quite as impressive as the one Nokia installed for the previously released 6-inch Lumia 1520, which has a 1080p LCD resolution screen.
The Lumia 1320 has a five megapixel rear camera and a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon chip with a clock speed of 1.7GHz. It also contains 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of on-board storage, with a microSD card slot for adding up to 64GB of additional space. The 3400 mAh battery in the 1320 happens to be the same as the one put into the 1520, which means it supports wireless charging and an estimated talk time of up to 21 hours per charge.
The estimated price of the Lumia 1320 in China is ¥2499, or about $412 without a contract. That compares to the current $549 no-contract price for the 1520 on AT&T. However, there"s no word on if the budget priced 1320 will be released in the U.S.
