Nokia launched the Lumia 620 recently in some parts of the world, and one of the features of the Windows Phone 8 device is the many different colors you can choose from. Today, Nokia gave Lumia 620 owners yet another choice, but it"s of a different kind.
In a post on the Nokia blog, the company has revealed plans to sell a new back cover for the Lumia 620 that has been designed to offer better protection for the owners who feel they might need it. Indeed the new cover, which comes in a grey color, has been given IP54 certification for protecting the Lumia 620 against dust and splashes of water. Nokia says:
The interior shell is created using a polycarbonate that’s fairly rigid, and the exterior is made of TPSiV, which is more flexible, rubber-like material. The combination of both of these materials provides a more flexible plastic; one that’s solid enough to take the forces that your phone may be subjected to, but soft and elastic enough to provide some give when it’s needed.
Nokia adds that when the protective cover is attached, it also wraps around the front of the Lumia 620 slightly, which gives the smartphone screen an added bit of safety should the phone be dropped by the user. The cover will go on sale in the parts of the world where the Lumia 620 is sold by the end of March and will be priced at 25 euros.
