Those that are taking the Bar Exam in North Carolina and are planning to use their brand new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar will be required to disable the function when it comes time for the test.
In order to be prepared, those taking the exam in February will want to disable the feature before arriving to the testing site. Prior to the start of the exam, those using a new MacBook Pro will be required to identify themselves and have a proctor examine their item to make sure the Touch Bar is disabled. This is currently localized, as the California Bar website does not have instructions on how to handle those with a new MacBook Pro. Naturally, there is plenty of time for this to roll out to all states before the February test date.
The North Carolina Bar Examination website offers simple instructions on how to get your MacBook Pro ready for the exam:
To disable the Touch Bar:
From the Dock, open System Preferences, then double-click Keyboard, then open the drop-down menu for “Touch Bar Shows,” and select Expanded Control Strip.
Don"t be alarmed if you don"t see the Touch Bar disappear; it won"t, as the above option will only expand the standard control strip across the length of the Touch Bar, disabling access to the more advanced options that arrive when opening different applications.
