Nubia unveils $590 Z17 handset with Snapdragon 835, 8GB RAM and Quick Charge 4.0+

Nubia has launched an impressive handset that offers top-end specifications for around $600 USD. The Z17 is the latest in its lineup and offers a simple design and array of features that should satisfy most.

While Nubia might not be as well known of a brand as Samsung, the firm has been churning out smartphones for quite some time and is actually part of ZTE. In its latest effort, it appears to have pulled out most stops in an effort to offer the best bang for the buck.

Full specifications of Nubia Z17:

  • 5.5-inch 1080p display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor
  • 6GB or 8GB RAM
  • 64GB or 128GB storage
  • 23MP / 12MP dual rear camera, 16MP front-facing camera
  • Quick Charge 4.0+
  • 3200mAh battery

Although the Z17 can be purchased in a few different configurations when it launches, what stands out most from the list above is undoubtedly the 8GB RAM. While 6GB is already considered quite a bit, the 8GB configuration makes this Android handset fairly unique. When purchasing the 8GB model, users will also have 128GB storage. Since the handset does not offer microSD storage expansion, it will be important to choose the proper configuration for your needs.

Unfortunately, this handset will only be available in Asia, where it will officially go on sale starting on June 6. The 6GB model will start at around $410 USD, while the 8GB variant will be available for $587.
