Nvidia today released the GeForce Game Ready WHQL 419.67 drivers, further progressing the vagueness with which it versions its variants of drivers. It was just about four days ago when the company released its Creator Ready WHQL drivers with the same version number, after all.
As put by Nvidia, here"s how customers of its GPUs are supposed to decide which variant of the driver they should get:
If you are a gamer who prioritizes day of launch support for the latest games, patches, and DLCs, choose Game Ready Drivers.
If you are a content creator who prioritizes stability and quality for creative workflows including video editing, animation, photography, graphic design, and livestreaming, choose Creator Ready Drivers.
The Game Ready variant comes with an identical list of known issues and bug fixes but boasts of providing optimal experience for Battlefield V: Firestorm, Anthem, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It"s also available for operating systems other than Windows 10.
Battlefield V: Firestorm, the game’s much-awaited battle royale mode, went live earlier today. Shadow of the Tomb Raider, meanwhile, finally received its RTX patch a few days ago, enabling ray-traced shadows and DLSS. February’s 417.17 WHQL-certified drivers were featured to offer optimal experience for Anthem, and these drivers appear to further optimize for that game. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, developed by From Software, released late last week to positive reviews. AMD introduced optimizations for that game with its driver release last week.
As mentioned, the list of known issues and bugs fixed is identical to the one released with the Creator Ready release. Here’s everything that’s fixed, once again:
- [DaVinci Resolve]: Performance drop occurs. [2532482]
- [Ghost Recon: Wildlands][Ansel]: The game experiences low performance and stuttering and then crashes when using Ansel. [2515076]
- [HDR][Far Cry:New Dawn DirectX 11]: Desktop brightness and color gets overexposed with ALT + TAB when Windows HDR is disabled and in-game HDR is enabled. [200495279]
- [Total War: Warhammer 2]: Poor performance when using antialiasing. [2506465]
- [Adobe]: Artifacts may appear in Adobe applications (fixed for single-GPU case). [2533911]
- [Apex Legends]: Screen gets corrupted when switching from windowed mode to full-screen mode when Windows HDR is enabled.[2523309]
- [GeForce Experience]: Parts of the screen are cut off when recording video with Shadowplay. [2517587]
- [Turing][Star Citizen]: The game flickers and then crashes to the desktop. [2518104]
- [GeForce GTX 980]: NVAPI calls take a large amount of CPU time. [2418933]
- [Titan RTX]: Graphics card rises about 20 degrees Celsius when running NVLINK command to enable TCC mode. [2504836]
- [GeForce RTX 2080][Notebook][Resolume Arena 6]: The game exhibits slow performance. [2511725]
- [GeForce RTX 2070]: With two monitors connected and active, the second monitor flickers. [2517103
Here are all of the known issues:
Windows 10 Issues
- [SLI][Adobe]: With SLI enabled, artifacts may appear in Adobe applications. [2533911]
- [SLI][HDR][Tom Clancy"s The Division 2]: The game screen becomes unresponsive or goes blank when in-game HDR options are toggled. [200496967]
- [ARK Survival]: Multiple errors and then blue-screen crash may occur when playing the game. [2453173]
- Note: A hotfix driver update will be released when fix is completed.
- [Shadow of the Tomb Raider][Ansel]: Invoking Ansel in the game causes the game to slow down or crash. [2507125]
- [Ghost Recon Wildlands]: The game crashes when accessing the inventory menu. [2404783]
- Note: This is expected to be fixed in the next driver update.
- Random desktop flicker occurs on some multi-display PCs [2453059]

- Note: This is expected to be fixed in the next driver update.
- 2535506 - Flickering when Acer Predator XB271HU monitor is connected along with a second monitor and G-SYNC is enabled
Just as with the Creator Ready driver release, the Game Ready driver also adds two monitors to the G-Sync Compatible list:
- ASUS VG278QR
- ASUS VG258
Additionally, both the Creator and Game Ready drivers introduce support for Surround for those using G-Sync Compatible monitors with a Turing GPU.
There are new or updated 3D Vision profiles for these titles, as well:
