Nvidia announces the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, faster than the RTX 2080 Super for $399

Nvidia introduced the GeForce RTX 30 series of graphics cards at the start of September, starting things off with the high end of the spectrum- the RTX 3090, 3080, and 3070. If you"ve been waiting for something a bit more affordable, Nvidia today introduced the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, the cheapest member of the RTX 30 family so far.

In terms of performance, the RTX 3060 Ti is faster than the RTX 2080 Super across the board, according to Nvidia. Comparing rasterization, rendering, and ray tracing performance, in a handful of games and programs, the newer card always comes out ahead, and the most notable improvements being in productivity tasks like Blender and V-Ray. It"s also up to 80% faster than the RTX 2060 Super, according to the company"s measurements.

Feature-wise, the RTX 3060 Ti has everything the other RTX 30 series cards have - support for ray tracing, DLSS, Nvidia Reflex, and support for the Nvidia Broadcast app, which leverages AI to apply noise reduction to audio recordings, replace video backgrounds, and more.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti will be available starting tomorrow, December 2, for $399, which is $100 less than the RTX 3070, and $300 less than the RTX 2080 Super used in Nvidia"s comparison. The card also comes with a one-year membership of GeForce NOW, so you can also stream games to your phone when your PC isn"t available.
