NVIDIA launches TegraZone app for Windows RT

NVIDIA has released its TegraZone app for Windows RT users to easily find Tegra-optimized games.

NVIDIA"s long touted the graphical benefits of its Tegra ARM systems, and now it"s bringing a way for owners of Windows RT devices with those systems to easily take advantage of their hardware.

Today the company recently announced it"s bringing TegraZone to the Windows Store with a new app. TegraZone, which is also available for Android devices, provides a place where users can find Tegra-optimized games and read news and reviews about those games.

According to NVIDIA, there are already several Tegra-optimized apps available for Windows RT devices: Judge Dredd vs Zombies, Pinball FX 2, Reckless Racing Ultimate, Riptide GP, Soulcraft, Space Ark, Sprinkle and Vendetta Online. While these titles are also available on other Windows RT devices, they include special features for Tegra device owners, such as high-resolution textures and enhanced particle effects.

In its blog post announcing the TegraZone app for Windows RT, NVIDIA claims it"s sold 6 million Tegra-powered Android devices, although it gives no numbers for Windows RT devices that are powered by its ARM platform. Currently the only Tegra-powered Windows RT devices are Microsoft"s own Surface tablet and ASUS" VivoTab RT.

TegraZone is currently available in the Windows Store free of charge.
