The GeForce 8 Series is starting to take shape as NVIDIA continues to release information on new graphic card models to its many partners. A 320MB derivative of the GeForce 8800 GTS product should be available in mid-February 2007. This model aims to reduce the cost for the enthusiast who really needs that DirectX 10 card. Samsung K4J55323QG-BC12 (800MHz GDDR3 memory) has a spot market price of about $50 for 640MB; therefore, the 320MB memory should go for $25 less. All aspects of the 640MB card will remain the same for the 320MB derivative: 500MHz core frequency, 800MHz memory frequency, 96 stream processors, the PCB layout as well as cooling.
In an interview late last year, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang confirmed the company"s plans for more DirectX 10 video cards in Q1 2007.
