No Man’s Sky became available for PCs only a few days ago and now Nvidia has put out a “game ready” driver promising improved performance and optimizations on systems powered by its graphics cards.
The company regularly publishes optimized versions of its drivers when big titles come out, and this is no exception. GeForce driver version 372.54 offers improved performance not only in No Man’s Sky but also in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Obduction, F1 2016 and the open beta of Paragon. This new version of the driver also fixes a number of issues including:
- [SLI, Witcher 3] Shadow darkness intensity changes randomly during gameplay.
- [368.81, Windows 10 x64] Netflix Windows Store app stutters in full-screen mode.
- [GeForce GTX 980 Ti, Windows 10 x64] Low GPU usage/scaling in Guild Wars 2 with
- [Call of Duty: Black Ops III] Illegal instruction crashes occur on NVIDIA hardware.
- [364.51, Windows 10] After driver update, Steam controller on-screen keyboard shows only white screen.
- High GPU idle clocks occur with two DisplayPort displays.
- [Steam VR] Vive on the Link Box mini-DisplayPort is not detected after a sleep/resume or a hot unplug/plug.
The driver also fixes some general VR issues and optimizes performance on head-mounted displays, such as the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. That’s not to say the new version is perfect, and there’s quite a long list of known issues which you can check here.
If you’re running the Nvidia Experience software you might have already downloaded and updated to this latest version. If not, you can do so manually from here.
