NVIDIA reintroduces SHIELD tablet as 'SHIELD Tablet K1', drops price by a $100

It"s been a little over a year since the debut of NVIDIA"s SHIELD tablet and although some time has passed, it"s still an insanely powerful device. Just in time for the holidays, it looks like NVIDIA is reintroducing the SHIELD tablet to market by rebranding and re-releasing it at a discounted price.

As previously mentioned, the SHIELD tablet made its debut nearly a year ago and offered the most impressive specifications to date. The internals of the device have not changed for the re-release, with the tablet still being powered by a Tegra K1 processor and 2GB RAM. The unit still offers the same 8" screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. What does change is the branding as NVIDIA has dubbed the tablet as the "SHIELD Tablet K1". With the new name, comes a new price, with company lowering the price by $100 and now offering the 16GB model for $199 USD.

If interested, the SHIELD Tablet K1 will be available through NVIDIA direct, Amazon and other online retailers.
