In April, NVIDIA first announced its plans for GeForce Experience, which it claimed would help hardcore PC gamers get the best hardware and software settings when they play a particular game on their rig. Today, NVIDIA announced that it has begun closed beta testing on this new service.
Part of this service involves a cloud-based server which NVIDIA says stores information on thousands of different hardware settings for PC games. The company said:
The user simply installs GeForce Experience on their system and the app will automatically download the best settings from the server based on the user’s specific hardware configuration. These settings can be applied per game or across all games as desired.
The system also includes automatic driver downloads to keep a PC updated with the latest software. At the moment, 24 games are supported with GeForce Experience, including recent games like Assassin"s Creed III and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, but more games will be added in the coming weeks. You can see an example of how the software works in the video above.
NVIDIA says that it will launch an open beta of GeForce Experience in the near future. There no word on if the company will charge money for the service comes when it comes out of beta.
