O2 expecting Samsung Galaxy S5 to be available at the end of this month

O2 Germany has already posted a teaser image of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 with a form to keep potential customers informed about the availability of the smartphone.

According to the carrier, the Galaxy S5 will be available by the end of February which means that the smartphone will be hitting stores within days of its unveiling at the Mobile World Congress on February 23. O2 UK may also be one of the first carriers to offer the S5.

Going by the teaser image, we can expect the Galaxy S5 to be water-proof, which has been one of the speculations surrounding the phone. Other specifications that are rumored to be part of the device include a display of 5.25 inches with 2K (2560x1440) resolution, a true octa-core processor with 64-bit support and a 16 megapixel camera.

On the software side, the next-generation Galaxy is expected to run on Android 4.4 KitKat with an overhauled TouchWiz UI with flat icons. Samsung is also expected to reduce the number of redundant apps and bloatware following their decision to co-operate with Google.
