Office apps on iOS add sparkling animation to ink strokes

Microsoft has updated its main Office apps - that is, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - with a new feature that makes inking a little more animated. There"s a new setting in the Pen options to enable a sparkle animation, which will pop up from the ink as it"s being drawn.

If that"s not something you care about, Excel and Word are getting a couple of other improvements as well. The former has a new option to "Focus on What"s Left to Do". This will collapse comments on the file, leaving only open items visible so that they stand out.

Word, on the other hand, is getting additional eraser sizes to make it easier to clean up small mistakes. It"s also received a fix for a bug where inking might cause pixels to shift in the document.

The updates are, of course, fairly minor, but if you"re interested in them, you"ll want to check the App Store for updates. If you haven"t yet, you can head to the App Store to download the iOS versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
