Office 365 subscribers who have also installed Microsoft"s productivity suite on their Android devices got a few quality of life improvements in the July update which has just been made available.
Compared to Insiders, regular subscribers only get some new features for three of the five available apps, namely Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Nevertheless, version 16.0.10325.20043 brings a worthwhile update to Word specifically, which now displays the word count in a little box at the bottom as you scroll through your document.
Outlook is on the receiving end of two new features, namely the oft-requested ability to delete contacts, as well as the option to set it to Do Not Disturb. As in any other piece of software with similar functions, the latter allows you to turn off email notifications in order to better focus on the task at hand.
Last but not least is PowerPoint, which now supports editing of your slides sideways. The fact that more screen real estate can be devoted to editing is a very welcome addition.
If you don"t have them installed, here"s where to get all the Office for Android apps:
On the off chance that you might want to test out these features earlier, there"s also the Office Insider Program for Android.
