Office Insider Preview version 2.2 is now available for iOS - here's what's new

Microsoft today released a new Office Insider Preview build for iOS. The June monthly update highlights improvements for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. The version number is 2.2 (170530).

One of the key new features is that you"ll finally be able to save a document or spreadsheet as a PDF in Word and Excel. But you can also open more types of files in Excel, including those that contain binary template files.

In Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, users will find that they can choose whether the Apple Pencil selects or inks by default. Finally, in Visio, you can use "iOS Document Provider to view Visio files no matter where they"re stored."

There were no new features in the changelog for OneNote or Outlook, which was recently added to the Office Insider Program on iOS. If you want to try out Insider builds of Office for iOS, you"ll need to apply. Unfortunately, you"ll have to choose between Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, as there"s no way to test out builds for all Office apps, like there is on other platforms.
