Office reportedly to land on iOS and Android in November

Microsoft Office for the iPad has been rumored for some time. A few months back there was a leak of a supposed image of the platform running on iOS but that was quickly shrouded in controversy by Microsoft.

Step in BGR who has claimed that the Office suite will land on iPad and Android tablets in November but goes even further to say that it could come to all iOS devices as the product was labeled Office for iOS.

Other than the fact that it might land in November and is headed to Android, that’s all the new information we have for now. Office on the iPad is one of the few staple products that has yet to make the leap to iOS but Microsoft has ported some applicants to the platform like OneNote.

Microsoft Office is the ace in the sleeve for Microsoft as the productivity is, without a doubt, the de facto on the market. While there are competing products from Apple and even the open source community, neither has made even a marginal dent in Office’s marketshare.

Until we hear anymore news, November is the month of Office on the iPad. If true, it will be a key turning point for the platform as it will make using the tablet as a true laptop replacement, a bit easier to swallow.

The image above is from The Daily, but we should point out that Microsoft did say the image was fake
