In a blog post, Microsoft announced that the official FXNOW application is now available for Windows 10 devices, including PC, tablet and mobile. For those unaware, FXNOW is an on-demand streaming service featuring many popular movies and TV shows including American Horror Story, Archer, The Americans and more, which are available on three Fox-owned networks: FX, FXX, and FXM.
Microsoft states that:
[...] FXNOW app for Windows 10 is available to download for free from the Windows Store onto all Windows 10 devices. Built for Windows 10, the FXNOW app features Cortana integration, allowing you to launch the app with your voice, as well as Live Tiles, which if pinned to your Start menu highlights the featured show of the day and an adaptive responsive layout which means the app will scale and adapt no matter your screen size.
Users of the service can access it using Cortana by simply saying phrases such as "FXNOW, play the latest (series), episode." or "FXNOW, search for (series), episode." on their Windows 10 devices. Cortana will automatically be able to open the app and point users to the episode they searched for.
Prior to the application specifically being built for Windows 10 devices, FXNOW sported a measly 2.2/5 rating in the Windows 10 Store. It will be interesting to see how users of the service respond to the newly redesigned app for Windows 10.
