Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile users might soon get the official Steam app, as it has now appeared on the Windows Store.
Just a week ago, it was reported that Valve might be planning to release a Steam Authenticator app for Windows Phone devices after mentions of "WinRT" and "WinRT clients" were spotted in the company"s code on GitHub. Now, it seems the app is much closer to release and might be more than just an authenticator, as per its description on the Windows Store.
According to the listing, the Official Steam app provides the following capabilities:
- Ensure the security of your account with Steam Guard multifactor authentication;
- Send and confirm trades with friends; - Sell your in-game items in the Steam Community Market straight from your Inventory;
- Browse the Steam storefront and keep up with the latest games, promotions, and sales;
- Remotely download and install your games straight to your PC at home.
The app supports Windows Phone 8.1 as well as Windows 10 Mobile. It seems that the rollout has just begun as users are reporting success in installing the app.
