One UI based on Android Pie arrives for the Galaxy S9 series in Canada

Samsung"s stable One UI experience (based on Android 9.0 Pie) first arrived for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in Europe on December 25, marking the official public release of that update to those devices after months of selective beta testing. Then last month, the same update was rolled out to Samsung"s 2018 flagship phones that are supported by Verizon"s network, which paved the way for One UI"s formal rollout in North America.

Today, the successor to the Samsung Experience continues to make its entry into other parts of that region with the official rollout of One UI on the Galaxy S9 series in Canada. Ibrahim Khan, a senior analyst at Toronto-based carrier Rogers Communications, confirmed the update:

The update is also believed to be available on those same devices carried by the networks of other telecommunications companies including Bell, Telus, and Videotron. It comes in at 1.77GB and includes the January 2019 Android security patch.

As usual, One UI brings with it some major changes as part of the Android Pie update such as the Night mode, Unicode 11.0 emojis, floating keyboard in all apps, and more.
