Microsoft released a new version of the OneDrive app for Windows Phone devices this week. This is the first update for the app since the company renamed its cloud data storage service from SkyDrive to OneDrive earlier this year.
The new 4.1 version is now available for download in the Windows Phone Store, and according to its change notes, it contains quite a few improvements. One of them is that the app now "looks great on large screen devices" such as the recent 6 inch Nokia Lumia 1520.
The new version now allows for multiple files, photos, and videos to be uploaded to a OneDrive account at once, which should be a huge time save. Users can now open and share OneDrive files in other apps. There"s also a new "immersive view" for photos, and users can now sort files and photos by name, along with which file is newest or oldest, or which has the biggest or smallest file size. Finally, there are a number of unnamed bug fixes and performance improvements.
This update is pretty much a must for Windows Phone owners to get as it brings many user-requested features to the OneDrive app, especially its new multiple file upload addition.
