OneDrive for web is getting Fluent Design and a bunch of other new features

Today, Microsoft announced that Fluent Design is coming to OneDrive.com. Some of the visual changes that you"ll see include "a common color palette, typography, icon systems and elevation styles", in an effort to align all of Office 365.

Old New

Along with all that, there are a bunch of other new features coming, which are meant to help you save time. One is recommended files, which will show up at the top of the app. These are files recommended to you based on "how you work and collaborate with others".

Then there"s File Card and Inside Look. These provide additional information about the file; for example, it will tell you how long it will take to read a document.

Recent View is pretty self-explanatory. It shows you your recently accessed files. There"s also now an easier to read activity column, which will show you things like edits that you haven"t seen yet, mentions, and comments.

Finally, OneDrive on the web will support shared libraries, similar to how it does on PC and Mac. This will surely be helpful for businesses that use Microsoft 365, as a user"s entire library of files can now be shared and viewed on the web.

All of the changed announced today will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
