Microsoft"s OneDrive platform has been well received since it was rebranded and can be found on nearly every mobile platform - and now, that includes Amazon"s products too. The Redmond-based company said today that OneDrive can now be found in the Amazon Appstore which means your Fire Phone or tablet can now save and retrieve files from Microsoft"s cloud.
OneDrive has been receiving constant love from Microsoft and has recently been updated to support new security features, along with a price cut as well. And, if you subscribe to Office 365, you also get 1TB of OneDrive storage for as long as your subscription remains active.
Microsoft has shown that its software will be everywhere that you are, and that includes competing devices. It"s a unique strategy as Google and Apple have frequently worked to keep their software locked to their own devices, but Microsoft wants you to use its products no matter your OS of choice.
While you might think that this diminishes Microsoft"s competitive advantage in Windows Phone - by sharing its core features with other devices - for Microsoft, it is more important to maintain its broad user base. There are other ways to differentiate Windows Phone - for example, through features like Cortana.
This is not the first Microsoft app that has been released for Amazon devices; OneNote is also available. You can download the app at the source link below.
