Microsoft is constantly improving its online storage offering, whether it is by offering additional free storage, better integration with Outlook, or simply updating the apps that access the cloud service in order to provide a better experience.
The Redmond giant today has announced that it will start rolling out a number of updates to its OneDrive web app, in order to improve the overall experience of using the cloud service for work. It will now be easier to create, share, and find the files you need to get things done.
The OneDrive team has now added a faster way to access common actions that you want to perform with your files, such as edit, download, share, copy or move and delete, which are now available via a right-click menu. You will also have access to advanced options such as version history, as shown in the above image.
Searching for files is now smarter, and as you start typing in the search box, the OneDrive web app will offer you relevant files and folders, not only from your personal storage, but also files or folders that have been shared with you by other people. Recent files will now be displayed as preview tiles, and will also offer you contextual information such as the creation date and where they"re stored.
If you"re using OneDrive for Business, setting up a project folder requires less steps, as you can now invite people as you create one, where in the past you had to do this after you"ve created it. These may seem like small improvements, but they can save time and help you get things done faster and easier.
