Across the many platforms it supports, OneNote has received numerous upgrades and feature additions, including the rather popular Learning Tools for OneNote that entered general availability in July 2016, helping people work and interact with notes via speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and an immersive reader mode. However, OneNote is not necessarily at feature parity across all platforms, but a highly requested feature set is now making its way to the iPad.
The OneNote Class Notebook toolbar made its debut back towards the start of last year for OneNote 2013 and 2016, while later making an appearance in Office Online and the UWP version of OneNote earlier this year. An update released this week for the iPad app enables such capabilities including "page distribution, reviewing student work, and shortcuts to quickly launch and manage the Class Notebook."
Plus, as found in the Class Notebook toolbar on other platforms, teachers can now also give out personalized stickers to their pupils to help recognize great work or to encourage increased focus on their work next time around - these can be found in the "Insert" tab. Furthermore, after having thrown open the doors to public opinion back in July, the OneNote team have also announced the inclusion of two new sticker packs, specifically "Dinosaur Sports" and "Unicorns". The new sets of stickers are in the midst of rolling out, but should soon appear in the list of available stickers.
Meanwhile, for OneNote 2013 and 2016 on the desktop, the Class Notebook add-in has been bumped up to version 1.8.3.0, bringing with it the following improvements:
- Assignment and grade integration improvements for Skooler
- Student mapping fix to allow for larger classes
- Miscellaneous bug fixes
If you haven"t done so already, you can click the "Update" button in the Class Notebook toolbar to download and install the latest version in order to start taking advantage of the new features.
