OnePlus 3 and 3T get new OxygenOS update based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat

After upgrading the 3 and 3T to Android 7.0 Nougat at the beginning of the year, OnePlus brought Android 7.1.1 to both handsets in March. Now, the company is rolling out a further update to the two devices, but it"s not based on the latest Android 7.1.2 version that Google released two months ago.

Instead, the new OxygenOS 4.1.5 update is again based on Android 7.1.1. It brings some minor improvements and bug fixes to the 3 and 3T, as detailed in OnePlus" release notes:

New additions:

  • Added system push notifications for important information from OnePlus

Updates:

  • Updated network settings for select carriers
  • Updated OnePlus Community app to v1.8
  • Updated Android Security Patch level to 1st May 2017
  • Modified WiFi no internet indication icon

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed storage issue present on 3rd party filemanagers
  • Fixed VoLTE issue on certain Jio SIM cards
  • Fixed connection issue on Android Auto

Optimizations:

  • Battery

  • Proximity sensor
  • Camera low light focus
  • Expanded screenshot

While the update has begun rolling out today, it will be a gradual process, reaching "a small percentage of users today", with a wider rollout "in a few days".

OnePlus will unveil its next flagship-class handset, the 5, on June 20. The design of the handset has already been partially revealed in a leaked image, in which it appears remarkably similar to Apple"s iPhone 7 Plus.
