Back at the start of August, OnePlus made a surprise announcement with the company temporarily halting OnePlus 3 sales in large parts of Europe and in Hong Kong. At the time, the “temporary pause” was scheduled to last a bit more than a month. Now, sales of the OnePlus 3 are once again available in those markets, and the devices have already started shipping.
We found the OnePlus 3 to be an excellent, affordable flagship, so it’s little surprise that the company saw huge demand for it. What is surprising is that the still-small OEM had to pause sales to deal with the demand, forcing potential buyers from 24 markets to wait a whole month before being able to purchase the new device. Still, a month’s wait is definitely better than the dreaded invite system that OnePlus used in prior years.
And there’s good news for those who were patient, as the wait is now over. As promised, the “temporary sales pause” ended just before midnight on September 12th. Orders can once again be placed in all affected countries, and many users are reporting that devices have already begun shipping.
Waiting times right now are around one week, going up to four weeks for some specific models. However, there’s extra good news as the company seems to just be overly cautious with their estimates right now, and many users have been notified that their devices shipped ahead of schedule.
If you were waiting to buy a OnePlus 3, now might be a good time to jump on board, though be warned that the company’s software updates have been a bit iffy as of late.
