OnePlus 5 confirmed to get Face Unlock feature

Last month it was speculated that OnePlus 5T"s Face Unlock feature could be coming to its predecessor, the OnePlus 5, in a future update. Now OnePlus CEO Carl Pei has confirmed through Twitter that the feature is indeed coming to the OnePlus 5.

OnePlus 5T"s Face Unlock feature received a lot of praise for its fast response and accuracy, which led users of the OnePlus 5 to demand for the feature on their not-so-old devices. It seems the company has acknowledged this "popular demand" from the community and will be bringing the feature to the smartphone:

Due to popular demand, Face Unlock is coming for the OnePlus 5. Thanks for the feedback, and merry Christmas! ???

Pei has not mentioned when the feature will be rolled out to the device in his tweet, but it shouldn"t be too far off once the final version of OxygenOS 5.0 is rolled out for the OnePlus 5.
