OnePlus 5 gets image stabilization for 4K video recording with new OxygenOS update

Less than two weeks after releasing a software update for the OnePlus 5, the company is now rolling out another update to the flagship-class handset, which it launched in June.

Following the unveiling of the device, concerns were raised about the quality of 4K video recording with its dual-lens rear camera. At the end of June, OnePlus said that 4K video stabilization would be coming to the phone in a future update.

Today, OnePlus announced the release of OxygenOS 4.5.7 for the device, including electronic image stabilization for 4K video. Here"s the full list of additions, improvements, and fixes in the update:

New additions:

  • Introducing the all new OnePlus Slate font
  • Added EIS for 4k video recording

Updates:

  • Updated Android security patch level to 1st July 2017
  • Updated to latest GMS package

Optimizations:

  • Wi-Fi connectivity improvements
  • Standby battery enhancements

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed occasional sound leaks in the speakers when using earphones
  • Fixed camera shutter sound bug in silent mode for Indian region
  • Fixed missing sound channels when recording videos

As with the company"s other over-the-air updates, this one will be rolling out to "a small percentage of users" initially, with wider availability promised "in a few days".
