It wasn"t long ago that OnePlus released the first version of the Open Beta of Android Oreo for the 5T. Today, the firm has released the second update, Open Beta 2.
For those curious, the update comes in at 435MB and offers a wealth of new features and improvements. First and foremost, there is a new clipboard application, as well as a new app that can perform backups and restores dubbed OnePlus Switch. The OnePlus 5T will now have the ability to auto-name folders and a new dynamic icon feature will be available for the desktop clock icon. The launcher has also been improved with a new app drawer design.
As for overall improvements, the new Open Beta 2 will offer better battery consumption measurements, optimizations to manage high power apps, and the addition of intelligent background app management. This update is just rolling out over-the-air (OTA) and should be available to most over the coming days. If curious, you can head to the settings menu, system updates, and check manually for updates. If it is available, you"ll be able to download the update and install it. Just be sure to have at least 20 percent battery life or you will not be able to install the update.
If you do not feel like downloading it OTA, the update should also appear on the OnePlus support website at some point in the near future.
