OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro specs leak, including wireless charging and a 120Hz screen

OnePlus has yet to announce this year"s family of flagship smartphones, but it"s well known that it"s on the way. The company has even shared some information about the upcoming OnePlus 8, such as a 120Hz display.

Now, though, prominent leaker Ishan Agarwal has shared a fairly complete spec sheet for both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, indicating that the company will continue to release two models at the same time, and naturally, the Pro model is the better one. This time around, though, there will be some serious advantages to the Pro model, and some that have been requested by fans for a long time.

For one thing, only the OnePlus 8 Pro will have a 120Hz display at a QHD+ resolution, while the regular OnePlus 8 will have a FHD+ display at 90Hz, similar to the OnePlus 7T. Most notably, though, the Pro model will have wireless charging, something that OnePlus has often argued against since it"s not fast enough. The OnePlus 8 Pro supports 30W wireless charging, which is the same you get with the wired charger, so it makes sense that the company considers the technology to be ready. It also supports reverse wireless charging. The normal OnePlus 8 still doesn"t support either, though.

Exclusive: They"re coming! Here is the full specification list of the #OnePlus8 & 8 Pro. Seems like #OnePlus8Pro is gonna be a beast with 6.78" 120hz QHD+ Display and 48+48+8+5MP Camera Setup. Will have 30W Wireless Charging & IP68 Rating too. I"m so excited! #OnePlus8Series pic.twitter.com/j1AAo19q4J

Another thing OnePlus has previously refused to do is get an IP rating for its phones, saying that they add cost to the device and mocking the idea by just showing a OnePlus 7 being thrown into a bucket of water. However, this time around, the OnePlus 8 Pro does have an IP rating, and it"s IP68, matching what we see on most flagships. The regular OnePlus 8 still has no rating, though.

The differences continue in the camera department, with the Pro model having a quad-camera setup with two 48MP sensors, one 8MP sensor, and one 5MP camera. The regular variant opts for a triple-camera setup with one 48MP camera, one 16MP sensor, and a 2MP shooter. Both have a 16MP selfie camera, though.

Aside from that, the phones are fairly standard flagship material. There"s a Snapdragon 865 chipset, either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and your choice of 128GB or 256GB of internal UFS 3.0 storage. The battery is 4,510mAh on the OnePlus 8 Pro, and 4,300mAh on the OnePlus 8. Assuming the leak is accurate, the only thing that"s really up in the air now is the price, but it seems likely that the price will go up significantly with the additional features and certification, especially on the Pro model.
