OnePlus announced its fall flagship smartphone today, and after various leaks, there wasn"t a whole lot left to the imagination. But the company delivered on its promises, with the new 90Hz AMOLED display that was previously exclusive to the Pro line, a new design, and more.
The OnePlus 7T is powered by a Snapdragon 855+ chipset, an SoC announced back in July for gaming phones. It also comes with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage.
But of course, the key feature is that buttery smooth 90Hz screen. It"s still AMOLED like on the OnePlus 7 Pro, but the resolution is 1080p with a 20:9 aspect ratio, so it"s actually 2400x1080. The 6.55-inch screen does have a teardrop notch, not including the pop-up camera that was on the 7 Pro.
The smartphone sports a triple-lens camera, with the main sensor coming in at 48MP and f/1.6. It"s a Sony IMX586, for those wondering. There"s also a 117-degree wide-angle lens that"s 16MP, and a 12MP 2x zoom lens. Naturally, it supports 4K 60fps video capture, along with OIS and EIS.
OnePlus says that its new Warp Charge 30T is actually 23% faster than Warp Charge 30 was. The 3,800mAh battery will charge to 70% in a half hour with a full charge within an hour, and the Shenzhen company attributes this to a revamped battery and an optimized algorithm. Not only does it charge faster, but it also stays cooler, and OnePlus says that you can charge while playing intensive games without compromising performance. Unfortunately, there"s still no wireless charging.
"OnePlus always strives to deliver the best technology and "fast and smooth" experience possible to its users," said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus. "The OnePlus 7T is a combination of style and substance, with industry-leading technology including the super smooth 90 Hz display, and new triple-camera set-up, and an unmatched user experience."
