It"s hard to believe, but OnePlus is celebrating its one year anniversary. Rather than keep the celebrations in-house, the company is celebrating by introducing a couple of new limited time promotions.
While supplies last, OnePlus is offering anyone a chance to purchase the OnePlus One without invitation. Furthermore, OnePlus has also discounted most of its accessories, with the exception of the bamboo StyleSwap cover. Lastly, OnePlus has also introduce a new external battery and USB OTG cable for its anniversary. The USB OTG cable is available now and the OnePlus 10,000mAh Power Bank will release sometime in 2015, but can be ordered now for $14.99 USD.
But, perhaps the odd takeaway from the celebration is OnePlus" announcement of their own custom ROM. Although it is uncertain what ROM they are referring to, it sounds like OnePlus might be creating a new OS that is independent of CyanogenMod.
While OnePlus has kept people on its toes due to its unconventional and sometimes controversial marketing campaigns, but has done fairly well, selling over 500,000 units over the past year. Although there have been rumors of a second flagship model in the works, we have yet to see any leaks of the reported device and will assume that it won"t be introduced until later in 2015.
