OnePlus is slated to launch its flagship phone for the second half of the year, the OnePlus 8T, on October 14. The company has teased a host of features and has even officially shown off the device’s design. However, the 8T might not be the only device to be unveiled this week, as the firm teased on Twitter a special edition OnePlus Nord coming October 14.
The tweet reads “Beauty is everywhere” and mentions that the device will be a special edition. The image shared suggests that the company might launch a version with a different rear finish that resembles the sandstone pattern of the OnePlus 1 and 2. The firm moved away from the sandstone themed, plastic designs starting with the OnePlus 3, but users could always purchase cases sporting the finish. Now, the company could be bringing back the sandstone option on its latest mid-ranger, likely thanks to the plastic build.

Other than the difference in design, it is unlikely that there would be any hardware revisions or updates to the device itself, considering that the phone is less than three months old. However, it will be interesting to see if there are any other surprises since the firm is also rumored to be working on a budget device. There are also murmurs of a more-affordable Buds Z truly-wireless earbuds offering set for launch soon.
