OnePlus was rumored to be working on a smartwatch that was supposed to debut in October. The company had even teased the watch ahead of the OnePlus 8T launch event earlier this month, but it did not unveil the wearable alongside the phone.
Now, as per leaker Max J, OnePlus has postponed the announcement of the OnePlus Watch and there"s no clarity on when it will be announced now. The leaker does not have any other details behind the delay but speculates the launch might have been postponed due to software or production issues.
OnePlus has been working on a smartwatch for quite a few years now. Initial rumors about the company working on a wearable first popped up in 2016 but died soon after. It looked like the company was all set to launch the OnePlus Watch this year but some last-minute issues mean that will not happen as well.
Not a lot is known about the OnePlus Watch. The wearable teased by OnePlus had a circular watch face but it is unclear if it will be running WearOS or a custom OS from the company. Other specs of the wearable are also unknown and it is possible that a delay could lead OnePlus to tweak some things around.
