Xbox One users got an unexpected surprise after an overnight patch for Assassins Creed Origins unlocked the upcoming The Hidden Ones expansion DLC a week early.
Don"t get too excited though if you weren"t one of the lucky ones, as Ubisoft said the problem has already been fixed. According to Community Manager Dominik Voigt:
The Hidden Ones expansion was unintentionally made available on Xbox One earlier today for some players before the January 23 release date. This happened due to a misconfiguration of our in-game store and has been corrected.
Access was not removed for players that entered the new region in order to avoid complications with save files. While players who already have access to the expansion will maintain that access, we ask to keep any discussion regarding the expansion in the spoiler designated sub-forum: https://forums.ubi.com/forumdisplay.php/1631-Assassin-s-Creed-Origins-Spoilers-forum
Ubisoft followed up with an official statement, reiterating what Voigt had said, while adding "These players will now be known as "The Lucky Ones"."
The expansion opens up the Sinai region in the game, while also raising the level cap to 45. Those Xbox One users who didn"t grab it while it was available, along with PC and PS4 users, can still get it through the Season Pass or by dropping $9.99 when it officially releases on January 23.
