Microsoft is constantly looking to improve its Edge browser - which is included with Windows 10 - by bringing new features and improvements to it frequently. Earlier this month, the uBlock Origin extension finally made its way to the browser, and after that, the company even introduced support for Google"s open-sourced Brotli compression algorithm.
However, Microsoft may have inadvertently kicked off "Browser Wars" on Twitter after making a falsified claim in order to promote its Edge browser.
Don"t just browse. Get to your favorite sites quickly. The only browser that lets you pin & preview tabs. https://t.co/exnbENo9Bp pic.twitter.com/salCQQiWVx

The official @MicrosoftEdge Twitter handle tweeted that Microsoft"s browser was the "only" browser that lets users pin and preview tabs.
This soon sparked a controversy as Opera responded to the claim in a rather sarcastic manner, saying that:
@MicrosoftEdge What a coincidence! ? We are also the only browser to do this ?

Vivaldi browser responded not long after, "welcoming" Microsoft Edge to the club:
.@MicrosoftEdge Welcome to the club - shows we set trends ? @opera @brave
— Vivaldi Browser (@vivaldibrowser) December 30, 2016
It is interesting to note that this is not the first time that the competition has responded to Microsoft"s claims. A few months ago, Opera and Microsoft clashed when conducting tests to see that which browser offered the best battery life. Of course, ultimately, the race to introduce new features first likely doesn"t matter to the consumer, as long as they receive them. That said, it still encourages a healthy competition between companies, which means that users keep receiving updates and new features frequently.
