OPPO has announced the international variant of the Reno4 Pro in India, following a launch in China last month. The international variant is somewhat different from the original Chinese version, which had 5G support courtesy of the Snapdragon 765G chipset. The international Reno4 Pro is 4G-only, and it"s powered by the Snapdragon 720G, an octa-core 8nm chipset, which should be a noticeable upgrade over the MediaTek Helio P95 in the Reno3 Pro (international version).
OPPO brought some interesting features to this mid-range smartphone, though, starting with 65W fast charging, featuring the same technology used in the OPPO Find X2 Pro. This should be able to fully charge the Reno4 Pro"s battery in 36 minutes.
The display on the Reno4 Pro is also one of the its highlights, with a Super AMOLED Full HD+ (2400x1080) display in a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate, too, so animations and transitions should also be pretty smooth, and there"s a 180Hz touch sampling rate. It also features a peak brightness of 1100 nits and a 5000000:1 contrast ratio, and a fingerprint sensor is hidden underneath.
On the back, there"s a quad-camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor for the main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. Despite only having a 48MP sensor, it can take pictures up to 108MP, and it has other features like 960fps slow-motion video and color filters that make certain colors pop. The front-facing camera is 32MP and it"s housed in a punch-hole cutout in the top left of the display.
Design-wise, the Reno4 Pro is just 7.7mm thin, and it features a frosted glass rear panel that"s not all too common in most smartphones. The camera bump is the only element with a glossy finish, and each of the cameras has its own individual bump.
The OPPO Reno4 Pro will be available in India on August 5 through Amazon, Flipkart, and other retailers, and it will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for Rs 34,990 (roughly $468.17). It will come to other markets in the coming months, and there will be a variant with 256GB of storage as well, though it"s unclear where that one will be available.
OPPO also announced a version of the OPPO Watch running Wear OS, powered by a Snapdragon 3100 and with features such as fast charging. It will be available in 41mm and 46mm versions, which will cost Rs. 14,990 and Rs. 19,990, respectively.
