Oppo Reno3 5G real world images leak, launch set for December 26 in China

Oppo’s Reno2 series of devices launched in India early this year sporting mid-range specifications. The devices came in three flavors - the Reno2, Reno2 Z, and Reno2 F – targeting different price points. However, a successor to the Reno2 series, called Reno3, comprising of two models – the Reno3 5G and Reno3 Pro 5G - was confirmed to be launching in China on 26 December. Now, real-world images of the more affordable Reno3 5G have leaked, providing a clear look at the device’s design.

The device’s back looks to have a textured design, similar to the design found on a Redmi K20 Pro. In the photography department, the device seems to come with a quad-camera arrangement stacked vertically. The photos also show off the ‘About’ page of the device that hints at the possible specifications of the device. If the details on the screen are to be believed, the phone might come with a 128GB storage option with 8GB of RAM. As promised by Oppo, the device is running Color OS 7 based on Android 10.

The phones were recently certified by the Chinese certification agency TENAA, which provided some specifications of the smartphones. The Reno3 5G is expected to come with a 6.4-inch FullHD+ AMOLED display. Selfie camera duties are expected to be taken care of by the 16MP front-facing shooter housed in the teardrop notch. At the rear, a 48MP main camera is expected to be accompanied by an 8MP and two 2MP cameras. Earlier benchmarks revealed that the device might be running a MediaTek MT6885 (a version of the Dimensity 1000 chipset).

The higher-end Reno3 Pro 5G is expected to sport a slightly larger display at 6.5 inches housing a punch-hole cut out for the front-facing camera. The front-facing shooter is said to be a 32MP sensor, with the back of the device consisting of four cameras – a 48MP main sensor, 13MP telephoto, 8MP wide-angle and a 2MP depth sensor.

The devices are set to be unveiled on 26 December in China. Not much is known yet about the exact price or possibility of the device making it to more markets.
