OPPO's Find X2 will be announced on March 6

OPPO has announced that it will be fully revealing its next flagship smartphone, the OPPO Find X2, through a live-streamed event on March 6. The phone was originally expected at MWC 2020, but the event has since been canceled.

As the name indicates, the Find X2 is the successor to the OPPO Find X, which was released in 2018. At the time, the phone featured some elements that made it stand out, such as a motorized pop-up module for both the rear cameras and the selfie shooter, a nearly-bezel free display, and a color gradient design on the back.

As for what to expect from the Find X2, it"s already official that it will pack Qualcomm"s Snapdragon 865 5G chipset, and OPPO is working with Sony to customize a camera sensor to use in the phone. The OPPO Find X 2 will also be the first phone to feature All Pixel Omni-Direction PDAF, offering better performance in terms of light sensitivity and focus.

Additionally, the screen is a big focus for the Find X2, with OPPO saying it will emphasize "resolution, screen refresh rate, color, and high dynamic range". OPPO Vice President and President of Global Marketing, Brian Shen, has previously teased a forthcoming phone, which is likely to be the Find X2. If past tweets are any indication, the FInd X 2 will pack a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling, QHD resolution, 1200 nits of peak brightness, and SDR to HDR conversion. It will also cover 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.

If you"re interested in OPPO"s next flagship, the event will be live-streamed on YouTube on March 6 at 10:30AM CET/9:30AM GMT. The Chinese version of the event will be hosted one hour earlier and include the OPPO Watch, which isn"t coming to international markets, at least for now.
