Oppo's new sub-brand Realme set to debut new handset on May 15 for India

Over the years, large companies have created sub-brands in order to tap into previously unexplored markets. Oppo is no stranger to this, being the parent company to OnePlus. But now it looks like the company is ready to spawn another offshoot called Realme.

While there aren"t a lot of details surrounding the company, it looks like it will be launching a new smartphone in a matter of weeks. The first handset will be called the Realme 1 and will have quite a unique design when it comes to its rear. The variant pictured will be known as the Diamond Black variant.

According to the Amazon India website, this will be a device crafted for the youth and will have plenty of support with over 500 service centers, presumably located in India, offering repair services, with most taking only an hour"s time. The Realme 1 will be an Amazon exclusive.

As for now, we will have to be patient. But luckily, we won"t have to wait long, as the Realme1 is slated to arrive on May 15.
