With the release and success of Killer Instinct for the Xbox One, it was only a matter of time before we would see one of the original Killer Instinct titles from the 90’s emerge on a next generation console.
According to a post found on the Korean Game Rating and Administrative Committee website, Killer Instinct Classic 2 could be making its debut for the Xbox One in the near future. For those unfamiliar, Killer Instinct 2 was a sequel to the original that was released in the early 90"s. Killer Instinct 2 was developed by Rare and manufactured by Midway. The game was released on the Nintendo 64 as Killer Instinct Gold.
Killer Instinct 2 shared much of the same mechanics as its predecessor, but also included several new features that were necessary to compete with other fighting titles released during that time. The game introduced four new characters, while also adding throws, a super bar, and parrying.
While it is important to take such listings with a grain of salt, if this listing is indicative of a future release, it will be interesting to see what kind of improvements might be seen in a title that is nearly two decades old.
