CD Projekt"s DRM-free store GOG has a habit of restoring classic PC games that never saw digital releases or just can"t be found nowadays. Its latest project in this journey now includes a massively popular Konami franchise, Metal Gear.
The original Metal Gear from 1987, Metal Gear Solid from 1998, and the 2001 title Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance - an expanded version of Sons of Liberty - can all be purchased through GOG now. The games are not new to PC, but since their original physical launches, they haven"t shown up on the platform via any official channels until today.
In addition to those GOG is also introducing the Konami Collector"s Series: Castlevania & Contra today. This bundle includes the five classic titles Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, Contra, and Super C.
As with other GOG releases, improvements have been made to these classics that allow them to run on modern hardware without tinkering. Metal Gear comes in at $5.99, while Metal Gear Solid and its sequel can be had for $9.99 each. Lastly, the new Konami Collector"s Series will cost buyers $5.99 for the whole package.
