In the past, Oukitel has been known to produce handsets that offer ruggedized designs or had an immense amount of battery capacity. With its latest offering, the firm has changed course, producing a blatant clone of Apple"s iPhone X.
As you can see from the image above, the Oukitel U18 is the spitting image of the iPhone X when it comes to the front portion of the smartphone. It features a 5.85-inch 21:9 720p near bezel-less display complete with top notch and has been advertised as having Face ID technology. The U18 is powered by a MediaTek MT6750T SoC, will have 4GB RAM, and 64GB of internal storage.
Oukitel has also taken some liberties with the design when it comes to the rear, opting for a full metal back instead of the glass that is found on the iPhone. The firm has also repositioned the dual camera setup that will feature a 16MP and 13MP sensor and added a traditional fingerprint reader. Lastly, the device should offer plenty of use with its 4,000mAh battery and will take a charge via its USB Type-C port.
Despite it arriving in 2018, it will run Android 7.0 with a promise to be updated to Android 8.0. Also, by looking at a retail version, as can be seen in the video from online retailer Banggood above, Oukitel might have exaggerated the slimness of its bottom bezel on the front display in its renders just a bit. But, with a retail price of $179.99, you really can"t complain too much. If you are interested, you can head to the website to place a pre-order, where for a limited time, it will be available for $159.99.
