Oukitel's WP5000 is a rugged phone with an 18:9 display and plenty of power

It was during Mobile World Congress that Oukitel announced its WP5000 rugged handset. A week later, the firm has released a new video, showing off the handset in full, giving those interested a better look.

If unfamiliar, Oukitel is the company behind the famed U18, which has a design that is identical to Apple"s iPhone X. Its latest device, the WP5000, is different than the U18 and is a handset designed to withstand the elements. The smartphone has a 5.7-inch 18:9 display, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and packs a 5,000mAh battery. According to the firm, the exterior body is made "of zinc alloy and military tri-proof plastic" and has an IP68 rating to protect against dust and moisture.

Although Oukitel has not announced a release date for the WP5000, it should be relatively affordable, if past releases are any indication. While there are handsets from the firm that provide more, in terms of battery life, the WP5000 could be a good middle ground for those that want something rugged yet modern.
